Warning Advice & Reporting Point (WARP).
As a specialist supplier of Information Assurance solutions, EADS Defence and Security operate a WARP for the UK Ministry of Defence and more recently for local government, local authority and strategic partners in Wales. The WARP is a not for profit internal company based service to share advice and information on computer-based threats and vulnerabilities. A WARP’s primary functions include trusted information sharing, advice brokering and a filtered alert warning service. The WARP may include (but not limited to) the following functions:
- Extended hours or 24/7 security operations team
- Vulnerability Analysis and Management advice
- Processes and Procedures to support incident response and management specific to environment.
- Governance structure, interface and alignment with other security teams, WARPs and coordination centres.
- Tooling to enable secure information sharing
